rules for play.
Art Break is a short, curious visit to real artworks. Here’s what to expect and how to use it with care.

The service.
Art Break offers read-only access to small art galleries, public collection searches, and artwork details. Optional art interests, forms, and artists can influence selection from its curated collection. It has no account system, stored taste profile, persistent viewing history, payment flow, user uploads, social posting, or reservation features. Looking questions, creative exercises, and preference-match explanations are editorial aids. They are not museum scholarship, artist testimony, or professional care.
The Daily Three offers a shared selection for the UTC day. Friend invitations preserve three artwork IDs and the sender's chosen ID; their on-screen reveal is playful, not secret or tamper-proof. The choice remains readable in the invitation URL and API response. Art Break does not store votes or recipient results. Share cards are generated in your browser with artwork credits; downloading or sharing a card is an action you choose. Creating an invitation does not send it to anyone.
Use with care.
Use short, nonpersonal art-related requests and only minimal preferences you explicitly share or authorize an agent to use. Do not send a full conversation, biography, sensitive inference, secrets, personal records, or material you are not authorized to share. Personalized gallery links expose their art-preference selections and excluded IDs to recipients; check the link before sharing. Respect published rate limits, avoid attempts to disrupt the service, and do not misrepresent the project as an official museum or Meta service.
Artworks and credit.
Art Break selects museum records marked public domain and preserves source links and credits. Public-domain status does not extend automatically to every museum image, trademark, or page. Before reusing material beyond this experience, review the museum's image guidance and museum terms.
Availability and accuracy.
Art Break and its museum connection may occasionally be unavailable. Museum records, rights flags, and image availability may change. Responses may use a dated metadata snapshot during an outage; that status is disclosed. Images still depend on the museum. Follow the original record for current collection information. Art Break does not provide or guarantee current on-view status, gallery location, opening hours, or admission information. Do not present a creative exercise as a verified collection fact.
Historical collections may include nudity, violence, religious imagery, and other mature subjects. Art Break does not guarantee age-filtered or family-safe results.
Preferences favor suitable works but do not guarantee every stop matches every preference. Match explanations describe collection tags, medium, or artist matches, not new historical facts. Explicitly excluded artwork IDs will not be repeated; if too few eligible works remain, the service returns an error. Selection reproducibility depends on using the same parameters and on stable museum eligibility.
Other services.
The museum, hosting provider, and any connected agent are separate services with their own policies. Art Break is independent and has no claimed affiliation with the Cleveland Museum of Art or Meta. Using this website does not mean the connector has been accepted into Muse's directory.
